Show cause notice was issued to the CEO
Earlier, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation had issued a show cause notice to the CEO of Air India. After the matter came to light, the DGCA started an investigation against the accused pilot. The DGCA had said that the pilot violated safety norms.

Apart from this, a notice has also been sent to Aviation Security Head Henry Donohoe for showing negligence in this matter and not registering any complaint. “The commanding pilot of the flight allowed an Air India employee traveling as a passenger to enter the cockpit during cruise, in violation of DGCA norms,” the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said.

The DGCA said Air India did not take prompt corrective action despite the “sensitive breach of security”. The DGCA further said, “A penalty of Rs 30 lakh has been imposed on Air India for not promptly and effectively addressing the safety sensitive issue. PIC for allowing the abuse and violation of its authority vested under the Aircraft Rules 1937.” The pilot’s license has been suspended for three months.” Along with this, the DGCA has warned the co-pilot, because he did not stop the partner’s female friend from coming into the cockpit.
