Amritpal Singh Arrest Operation: The Punjab Police continued the search operation for the second consecutive day on Sunday (March 19) to nab Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh. The operation was started on Saturday to arrest Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal. Meanwhile, in view of the security arrangements, the internet has been suspended in Punjab till Monday. Heir Punjab de Chief Amritpal Singh has many cases registered including hate speech. Amritpal and his associates had committed violence at the Ajnala police station in Punjab last month. He created a ruckus over the release of one of the kidnapping accused, Lovepreet Toofan. It was Barinder Singh, a former associate of Amritpal, who lodged a complaint against him, alleging that Amritpal and his associates had abducted him and assaulted him.

This FIR is registered on Amritpal Singh

The police had registered an FIR against Amritpal and his associates in the Ajnala episode on 23 February. Two more FIRs have been registered against Amritpal Singh and his two associates in connection with recovery of weapons from a vehicle found abandoned and breaking of police barricades in Jalandhar.

An FIR was registered in connection with the recovery of arms and dozens of cartridges from a vehicle on Sunday. The second FIR was registered on Saturday (March 18) after Amritpal Singh and his associates broke a police barricade in Jalandhar.

Ajnala came in limelight after violence

Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh came into limelight only after the violence in Ajnala police station. Waris Punjab De, which Amritpal Singh heads, was started by actor and activist Deep Sidhu. Deep Sidhu died in a road accident in February last year.

There was a clash with the police

Actually, Amritpal, angry with the arrest of his colleague Lovepreet Singh Toofan, along with his supporters attacked the Ajnala police station on 23 February. Amritpal Singh had freed his worker by protesting. Six policemen, including a superintendent of police, were injured in the clash with the police. Amritpal Singh also claimed that some of his men were injured.

Khalistan was told its destination

Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh also gave several interviews to ABP News and claimed that what he did at Ajnala police station was right. Supporting Khalistan, Amritpal had said that our aim is to do everything, but the ultimate goal is Khalistan. Our destination is Khalistan and our struggle is going on to achieve it. Khalistan is the ultimate solution to every problem.

Punjab CM meets Home Minister

Chief Minister of Punjab on March 2 after the Ajlana police station incident Bhagwant Mann Had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Punjab Chief Minister had tweeted that he met the Home Minister and both the state and the Center agreed to work together on the issue of law and order.

Center sent force, action taken on Amritpal

The CM of Punjab had requested the Center to send additional security forces. After this, the Center sent additional forces to Punjab. Now the Punjab Police took action against Amritpal and his associates on Saturday. The police launched an operation to nab Amritpal. Under which two vehicles were caught in the morning, but Amritpal Singh managed to escape. The police had also chased Amritpal Singh to arrest him, but he could not be found. Search operation is going on to nab him.
