Mumbai Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday expressed happiness over the Oscar winnings for the song “Naatu Naatu” from Telugu film “RRR” and Tamil documentary “The Elephant Whispers”. Bachchan (80) tweeted, “We win. We won two prizes. We live for the country and the people. Planted the Indian flag abroad. Oscar 95. Director S. S. Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ created history by winning the Oscar in the Best Original Song category at the 95th Academy Awards.
Music composer of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is MM Keeravani and lyrics are penned by lyricist Chandrabose. It is sung by Kaal Bhairav and Rahul Sipligunj. ‘Naatu Naatu’ means ‘to dance’. Tamil documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’ directed by Karthik Gonsalves won the first Oscar for India in the ‘Documentary Short Subject’ category. Significantly, actor Amitabh Bachchan was injured while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming film ‘Project K’ in Hyderabad and is currently taking rest on doctor’s advice.
