Karachi. Eight people of a family were killed on Saturday after their vehicle was swept away by floods in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Police said the accident occurred in the province’s Awaran district when the driver tried to pull the vehicle out of a water-logged road in a mountainous area but failed and the vehicle was swept away into a deep gorge.
Police officials said that the dead included two elderly people and six children. A senior official said that three minor girls and three boys were also among the dead. The accident took place in Jhao area of Awaran district where it has been raining heavily since Friday.
