Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: The meeting of the Central Election Committee of the Congress is going to be held in Delhi today (March 17). If sources are to be believed, the first list of candidates may be released on March 18. Earlier, the top leaders of the Congress held a meeting in Vijayapura of the state regarding ticket distribution in the Karnataka elections.
Announcement of the first names of Rahul’s rally
According to the information, before the Karnataka tour of Rahul Gandhi, the party can announce the names of about 120 candidates. Rahul Gandhi is going to reach Karnataka on 20 March. He will attend the party’s mega rally in Belagavi in the state.
State Congress President in Karnataka DK Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will also attend the meeting of the Central Election Committee.
Prior to this, Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, Chairman of the Party’s Election Ticket Scrutiny Committee Mohan Prakash, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar and former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah attended the meeting held at Vijayapura on March 9.
DK Shivakumar’s brother can contest elections
The name of DK Suresh, brother of DK Shivakumar can also figure in the list of Congress candidates. DK Suresh is currently the only Congress MP in the state. There is talk of him contesting the Ramanagara assembly seat in front of Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of JDS leader Kumaraswamy. State President DK Shivkumar himself had informed about this.
DK Shivakumar had said on his brother’s contesting elections, “I can’t deny it, but yes, there is a proposal. I have yet to discuss it with everyone. My message is that he should contest. Local leader They are pressurizing me and the party is also saying that Suresh should contest the elections. I haven’t spoken to Suresh or party workers about it yet. It’s a big decision, but it hasn’t happened yet.”
