Mumbai: Ashwini Iyer Tiwari has announced to make a film on the first woman and filmmaker of Hindi cinema, Devika Rani. Devika Rani, who was one of the boldest actresses of her time, created a stir by giving a four-minute long kissing scene in the film ‘Karma’. After quitting acting, Devika Rani along with her husband Himanshu Rai founded Bombay Talkies and gave stars like Ashok Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari and Madhubala to cinema.

According to Ashwiny Iyer, who has made films like ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Panga’, there are many things in Devika Rani’s personality, due to which her biopic can be liked by today’s generation.
