‘If Muslims are to be beaten…’, FIR lodged against suspended BJP leader after controversial remark

T Raja Singh on Muslims: The difficulties of suspended Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh have increased. The video of one of his hate speeches was becoming very viral on social media. Now the Ahmednagar district police has registered a case against him. In his speech, he issued a controversial statement regarding Muslims. After this there was a lot of ruckus.

Officials at Shrirampur police station said that Singh had been invited to an event on March 10 to mark Shivjayanti, the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In his speech here, T Raja Singh made derogatory remarks towards the Muslim community. On Monday, some local members of the community lodged a police complaint against it. On the basis of this, a case has been registered against him.

Three sections on T Raja Singh

Inspector-in-charge of the station, Harshvardhan Gawli said that sections 295, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code have been imposed on T Raja Singh. Section 295 of the IPC deals with damaging or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class, while 504 and 506 deal with intentional insult and criminal intimidation.

T Raja Singh has been giving hate speeches

Earlier in February too, an FIR was registered against him for alleged hate speech during the Shivjayanti program in Maharashtra’s Latur district. In August 2022, Singh was arrested by the Telangana police for his remarks against Islam and Prophet Mohammad. It was only after this that the BJP distanced itself from his remarks and suspended him from the party. He has also made a tweet after his speech. He said that some people had a misconception that the Ram temple would not be built. The second misconception was that Article 370 will not be removed. Now there is a misconception that India will not become a Hindu nation.
