External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that relations with China will not be normal until the face-off issue at the beginning of the Covid lockdown is resolved. Addressing the Forum for Nationalist Thinkers, Hyderabad Chapter Talk on ‘India’s G20 Presidency’ in Hyderabad, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that relations with China will not improve until the conflict is resolved. Jaishankar also said that PM Narendra Modi decided to deploy army in difficult areas on LAC and today the world is seeing this strength and power of India.
Without naming the 1962 war, Jaishankar also raised the issue of defeat from China. He said that PM Modi has sent the soldiers on LAC with full preparation. Whereas, earlier jawans were sent without preparation and we have seen the result of that. He further assured that I can tell you that the whole world has taken note of it. He also notes that since then we are standing firm. We have made it very clear that until this issue is resolved, our relations with China will not be normal.
Jaishankar said that this year apart from the G20 President and Prime Minister level conferences, there will also be 15 ministerial level meetings. He said that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a deep psychological impact on the entire world today and such is the sense of resentment that developed countries thought only of themselves during the pandemic. Jaishankar said that except India, only a few countries thought about the rest of the world.
