Maruti Suzuki is about to launch two new SUVs in India in 2023. In which there will be a coupe style SUV with the YBT codename and the Jimny 5-door lifestyle SUV. Both these SUVs will be less than 4 meters long and they can also be priced under Rs. 10 lakhs. The Jimny, on the other hand, could be available for sale by mid-2023. The prices of these cars can also be announced at the Auto Expo.
How will the YTB SUV be?
The YTB SUV coupe will be based on the lightweight Heartect platform which will underpin the SUV version of the company’s Baleno hatchback. Its design will be inspired by the Futuro-e concept, which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. This car can look like Grand Vitara from the front. The car can get wheel arches, black side cladding, coupe like roofline and lifted suspension. The cabin layout and features could be similar to the Baleno hatchback. Which will be sold through NEXA dealerships. It can get the option of 1.0-liter 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol and 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine. Along with this, mild hybrid technology can also be found in it.
How will Maruti Jimny be?
The Jimny 5-door will be based on a modified ladder-on-frame chassis. Compared to the 3-door Jimny Sierra sold overseas, the 5-door model will get a 300 mm longer wheelbase, allowing for more space with a bigger boot. This car will get a 1.5-liter K15B petrol engine, which will generate 102 bhp and 130 Nm of torque. Due to this engine being equipped with mild hybrid technology, its mileage can also be high. It can get 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission. This car will be equipped with the company’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system.
YTB will compete with Venue
