Mumbai: Zee Studio had made complete preparations for the release of Fawad Khan’s recent hit film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’. The film was also scheduled to release in India on 30 December. But due to the controversy over its release in India, now the release of this film in India has been banned. Pakistani film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is the first Punjabi language film which has recorded a record of earning more than 200 crores (in Pakistani currency) worldwide.
Fawad Khan’s ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is the highest grossing film of Pakistani cinema. The film was released worldwide on 13 October. Now Fawad and Mahira Khan starrer this film has collected more than 200 crores. Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik and Hamza Abbasi are seen in lead roles in the film. In India too, the release of this film was eagerly awaited. The film was to be released in theaters on 30 December. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the censor board had also given clearance to the film. But on Monday the censor board canceled the film’s clearance.
Release date of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ postponed
A spokesperson for multiplex chain INOX confirmed to The Indian Express that the film’s release has been postponed indefinitely, and no new date has been announced for the Bilal Lashari directorial. He said, “The film has been postponed, that is what we have been told by the programming team. A new release date has also not been announced yet.

It was also said in the coming report that no new release date has been given for ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ till now. It is believed that the release of the film has been postponed indefinitely. Along with this, the certificate given by the censor board to the film has also been cancelled. The release date of the film in India was kept on 30 December. But due to the protest against this film, its release date was banned.

The protest against Pakistani stars in India started only after the Uri attack. There was a lot of uproar about Fawad Khan in the film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. After which Indian films were banned in Pakistan as well. As soon as the release of Fawad Khan’s film ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in India came to the fore, there has been a lot of protest against this film.
