Press release: If we talk about Hindi cinema, Bollywood makers have been making films on Love Jihad since the fifties. Don’t know how many films have been made on the love stories of Hindu-Muslim couples. If we talk about this film, on the lines of previous films, the film does not end with murder or growing hatred or riots between two communities, but the climax of the film seems to be totally different from the films made on such subjects. Not only this, the writer and director of the film honestly started to finish at the outdoor location, which was also the demand of the film’s story.
Shot in and around Kathgodam and Dehradun, this story is of Munna Lal Mishra and Zoya Khan. Kashipur is the son of Pandit Govind Namdev, a ritualist who is deeply in love with Zoya Khan, a girl from a rich Muslim family in Islampura. After a few meetings, Zoya Khan is convinced that Munna is her true love. It is my dream to celebrate my family in any way and get married with the consent of the family. Will Zoya Khan and Munna Mishra be able to persuade their respective families for this marriage or not?
Director Siddiqui should be praised for daring to make a film on a story with a limited budget and new cast, which even the number one production house of the glamor industry shies away from making. Through films like Shubh Nikah, proof of Hindu-Muslim unity and mutual brotherhood has been presented in the society!
An attempt has been made to present this love story of Munna alias Munna Lal Mishra and Zoya Khan very beautifully. The story of this film has also given the message of social unity and national unity. Director Arshad Siddiqui has effectively presented this story on screen. Aksha Pardsani in Zoya’s character and Rohit Vikram in Munna’s character have done good acting. Govind Namdev is solid in the role of Munna Mishra’s father. The film’s production company Brandex Entertainment and Arsh Sandhu Entertainment should be commended for making a film on such an impactful subject with utmost sincerity.
