New Delhi: Top BCCI officials will review India’s dismal performance in the T20 World Cup 2022 on January 1 with captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid. NCA (National Cricket Academy) chief VVS Laxman, who was with the Indian team in Dravid’s absence, is also expected to attend the meeting. The meeting is to be held in Mumbai ahead of the limited-overs match against Sri Lanka starting on January 3.
England defeated India by 10 wickets in the semi-finals of the World Cup. India last became the champions of the 2013 ICC event. The team then won the Champions Trophy title under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. On home soil, the Indian team won the ICC World Cup title in 2011.

The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee was sacked after the Indian team’s T20 World Cup campaign. With the new committee yet to be formed, however, he was given the responsibility of overseeing the Ranji Trophy matches and picking the squad for the three T20 Internationals and as many ODIs against Sri Lanka.
