Recently, three terrorists of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were arrested and a huge amount of arms and ammunition was recovered from an oil tanker in Narwal bypass in November. On the occasion of New Year and Republic Day, terrorists are eager to carry out some big incident, for this, ammunition is brought from Pakistan to Kashmir by infiltrating it.

Under this alert, the security forces were doing strict checking of vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, when a truck carrying terrorists was stopped near the Tawi bridge in the Sidhra bypass area in dense fog. As soon as the jawans stopped the truck, the terrorists in it started firing on the security forces. During this, the four terrorists were killed by the security forces, while the truck driver fled from the spot.

Giving information about this encounter, army officials said, “The bodies of four terrorists have been recovered from the truck. Seven AK rifles, one M4 rifle, three pistols and a huge quantity of ammunition have been recovered from the slain terrorists. After infiltrating from Pakistan, the terrorists were going towards Kashmir in a truck. Police officials called it a big success ahead of Republic Day. Officials said, “Ahead of the January 26 celebrations (after the seizure), the army, the police and the Central Reserve Police Force, all of us together, are on high alert. Security has also been increased at the border and the (security) camps have also been made more secure. That’s why we were able to foil their plan.”

Giving information in Parliament recently, the government had said that after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, till July 2022, 118 civilians, including five Kashmiri Pandits and 16 other Hindus and Sikhs, have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was revoked on August 5, 2019, and the state was divided into two union territories, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
