‘The list of the rich doesn’t matter, it is important for me…’, said Gautam Adani

Gautam Adani News: Gautam Adani, the world’s third and Asia’s richest man, talked about his journey and relationship with PM Modi. Gautam Adani said on his achievements this year that 2022 has been special for us for many reasons. Our Adani Wilmar IPO was successful and with this our group has become the seventh listed company.

He said that in our business model we start the company. Worth the profits. Then get the list done. This IPO is also an example of the same. When we bought ACC and Ambuja Cement for about $10.5 billion, we became the second largest cement producer in the country. This was our biggest acquisition till date. Also, this is India’s biggest ever M&A transaction of infrastructure and material business.

What is the meaning of coming in the list of the rich?

On being the world’s third and Asia’s richest person, Gautam Adani said that this category and number have no meaning for me. This is all media hype. I made everything from scratch. I enjoy challenges, the bigger the challenge, the happier. For me, the opportunity to change people’s lives and take the country forward gives more satisfaction than coming in any rich list. I want to thank God that he has given me this important opportunity to take this country forward through infrastructure building.

He said in an interview with Aaj Tak that this year I have also celebrated my 60th birthday. On this occasion, my family gave 60 thousand crore rupees to Adani Foundation. This is for three special purposes close to my heart and strengthening the foundation of the country – education, healthcare, skill development. It gave me immense satisfaction and happiness which is greater than any professional achievement.

From whom do you get inspiration?

Gautam Adani said that like a common man, the courage, strength and spirit of every countryman inspires me a lot. In the second edition of the Green Talks series, I am inspired by the story of Arunima Sinha and Kiran Kanojia, who conquered the world despite losing their legs. He is the real hero of new India. His stories brought tears to my eyes. I salute his spirit. Can there be any other story of more incredible courage and courage than these? Seeing his story, my faith has become stronger. The stories of such people inspire me a lot.

He said that I was born in a very ordinary family. In that period, we were struggling with the problems of electricity and water. This was the time when there was a lot of lack of infrastructure in port, airport and other areas in India. China started to overtake us, which got independence near us and in 1990 the average income there was less. That’s why I had the urge to take India forward and strengthen it. I use every opportunity for nation building and better facilities. All of our industries are run by professional people and capable CEOs. I do not interfere in their daily work. My job is to show the direction ahead, allocate capital and review their work.

What did you say on the relationship with PM Modi?

On the relationship with PM Modi, Gautam Adani has said that I and PM Modi are residents of the same state. That is why it becomes easy to make such baseless allegations against me. My journey started when Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister. When he promoted the Exim policy and for the first time many things came in the OGL list, my export house started. Had it not been for him, my beginning would not have been like this. The second opportunity came in 1991 when Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh started economic reforms.

Gautam Adani said that while being the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi showed a new direction of development. In Gujarat, underdeveloped areas also developed along with economic change due to his policies. This led to the development of industry and employment. Narendra Modi Today as Prime Minister he is doing the same thing at national and international level. This is said against me, it is unfortunate, it is all baseless and there is bias against our progress.
