The National Disaster Management Agency gave this information on Thursday. Bad weather marred Christmas celebrations in the eastern, central and southern Philippines. There are more than 56,000 people still in emergency shelters. Images from the southern province of Misamis Occidental showed rescue workers carrying an elderly woman on a plastic chair.

In these pictures, rescue workers are also seen pulling some people out of the flood-hit area with the help of ropes.
