Nitin Gadkari on Politics: Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday put an end to the claims/rumours and speculations that he was about to retire from politics. He also appealed to the media to act responsibly in this regard.
The Union Minister said this while questioning his politics on the progress of Mumbai-Goa National Highway (NH-66) in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The Union Minister said, I have no intention of retiring from politics, and the media should refrain from reporting on this matter.
How did the rumor fly?
Last Sunday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari while speaking at a felicitation ceremony in Nagpur had said that there is a lot of potential for experiments in areas like water conservation, climate change and utilization of barren land. Gadkari said, he has worked in politics for a long time, and now he wants to work on environmental issues.
In such a situation, if people do not choose him as their leader, or do not vote for him, then he will not complain about it. His statement was linked to the announcement of his retirement from politics. But when this matter escalated, the Union Minister himself clarified about it on Thursday.
